| Oh NO!!! |
[07 Nov 2009|01:54pm] |

As I previously posted HERE DMX was slated to be in a "Celebrity" boxing match in December.
But HipHopDX is reporting that he has dropped out.
According to several reports, rapper DMX has backed out of a boxing match with musician/fighter Eric Martinez that would have taken place later this year.
A sourced revealed to AllHipHop.com that “DMX pulled out of the fight because his safety could not be guaranteed” and “that the rapper backed out because Thunder Promotions refused his request to ‘fix’ the fight.”
The match would have taken place at Alabama Pride on December 12 before the headlining fight between Butterbean and Tank Abbott.
AllHipHop.com also reported that the sponsors of the event, Thunder Promotions, might possibly take legal action against DMX and that they are currently in search of another rapper to replace DMX.
Just last month DMX revealed to Washington’s 106.7FM The Fan that he will not train for the fight explaining that, “I’ma just walk in as is. It wouldn’t be fair if I trained.”
DMX has yet to respond to the reports of him backing out of the fight.

| Question: Expansions |
[07 Nov 2009|04:18pm] |
I'm wondering for those of you, like me, who own all (or just a good portion) of the expansions only play with some or all of them.
I've decided to reinstall TS2 and I'm debating whether or not to install ALL of them. I know some of them I only install for minor features, but never actually utilize the expansion. (Off the top of my head: BV I only install for some of the "Asian" items and the beach lots.)
Do you feel you benefit from playing with less expansions or do you miss the "missing" ones?
(Please note: I am not asking for opinions on which to install and which not to, although you're welcome to offer your opinion. I already know which EPs I "can't" live without and I'm debating on the other ones.)

| Multi-Fandom Characterization Rant |
[07 Nov 2009|03:57pm] |
Okay, you don't have to like the heroes of any given story, and you're perfectly free to write fic that displays their more unlovely characteristics. But could we please at least make a token effort at staying true to their canon characterization? Sirius Black is an irrational bully, but he's not a traitor. Rodney McKay is an arrogant misanthrope, but he's rarely cruel. Mac Taylor is stiff-necked and overly concerned with rules, but he's neither stupid nor bad at his job. Dean Winchester can be a flippant jerk, but he's almost never selfish, especially when it comes to Sam (in fact, he'd sell his soul to save his brother. Oh, wait....)
Focusing on a character's negative traits is fine. Inventing negative traits that don't exist in canon--or that go directly against canon characterization--just makes you look like an idiot. You don't need to justify your dislike of a character by making up flaws that don't make any sense for them. You're allowed to just not like them. With the caveat that not everyone is going to agree with you, and that's okay. Variety is a good thing, people.

| Momo's Petticoats? |
[07 Nov 2009|03:00pm] |
I know Momo's doesn't have the best reputation, but recently I've seen a few posts that have stated that their quality has improved a lot. I was looking at this petticoat they have for sale on eBay (I need a new white one), and I was wondering if anyone here has bought one. Can anyone tell me anything about their pettis? Really, I just want to know how poofy the thing is...it looks pretty poofy in the photo. I don't care so much about scratchiness or cheap materials; it's just a petticoat (and I danced ballet for years, so itchy doesn't bother me haha).
Edit: I have decided to go ahead and buy it, so I will post my own review and photos of it worn when I receive it! Thank you <3

Spending quality time with his family, Cam Gigandet was spotted out to lunch in Los Angeles, CA yesterday afternoon (November 6).
The “Twilight” hottie was in full dad mode as he carried daughter, Everleigh Ray, in a sash carrier, all the while keeping his little girl happy with a pacifier.
Joined by girlfriend, Dominique Geisendorff, the cute family of three sat and had lunch at Toast Bakery and Café.
Attention all Cam fans! The actor will be all over the silver screen next year as he recently wrapped up “The Roommate” with Leigthon Meester, “Easy A” with Penn Badgley and “Kerosene Cowboys” with Shane West and Rachael Leigh Cook.

| New Movie for Ben Barnes? |
[07 Nov 2009|03:14pm] |

Finance has closed and pre-production begun on I Was Bono’s Doppelgänger, Nick Hamm’s Irish comedy based on Neil McCormick’s autobiography. The film is being sold at the AFM by London-based Salt. The cast is headed by Ben Barnes (Dorian Gray, The Chronicles of Narnia:Prince Caspian) and Robert Sheehan (Season of the Witch, Cherrybomb), who play hapless brothers Neil and Ivan McCormick. Together, they set up a a band in Dublin in the late 70s. Sadly for them, so do their classmates and rivals, who go on to become U2. The film starts shooting January 11 on location in Northern Ireland with additional photography in Dublin and London. The script is written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais (The Commitments). Salt has already closed a deal for France with Pyramide, which recently enjoyed brisk business on another Britcom, Easy Virtue, also starring Ben Barnes. Other deals closed include Svensk for Scandinavia, Prime Pictures for Middle East, Jaguar for air lines, Lusomundo for Portugal and Odeon for Greece. Producers are Piers Tempest (Like Minds) for The Salt Company, Ian Flooks (Confetti) for Wasted Talent, Mark Huffam (Mamma Mia!) for Generator Entertainment and Nick Hamm for Greenroom Entertainment. The film is backed by Isotope Films, Matador Pictures, Cinema Three, Regent Capital, Molinare, Silver Reel, Sony Music Entertainment UK who will release the soundtrack worldwide and Northern Ireland Screen. “We are thrilled to be involved in this adventure with Salt,” said Pyramide chief Eric Lagesse.”I always wanted to be a rock star but decided against it as a career for fear of ending up like the character Neil in this great script to be directed by Nick Hamm. I couldn’t help myself from buying this funny and sweet story of two brothers chasing success.” source
Sounds interesting.

| 1 Video + full transcript from the press juncket yesterday |
[07 Nov 2009|08:43pm] |
Earlier today, the massive Los Angeles press junket for Summit Entertainment’s “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” began. All weekend the cast is going to be doing tons of interviews and I’d imagine you’re going to be reading the coverage on every website you follow. So rather than wait till the week of release, I’m going to be jumping in head first and posting what was said as fast as I can get it done. And up first… Kristen Stewart.
While at last year’s press junket for the first “Twilight” film, I got the sense that the massive worldwide interest was a bit much for this talented young actress. But, on stage today, she not only handled the media like a pro, she seemed a lot more comfortable being closely associated with Bella Swan. In fact, she seemed really happy to be talking about the movie. So if you’d like to read or listen to what Kristen Stewart had to say about “New Moon”, hit the jump and take a look:
Finally, while I’d love to write what I thought about the movie as I saw it last night, Summit Entertainment has given us a strict embargo. Sorry.
only part of Kstew's interview has been put out in video, you can find the audio of Rob's but that's it. Apparently a twihard ratted out people and they weren't allowed to take pictures/film
