Kitteh!
A few months back, I mentioned that we got a kitten and named her Marie (after the kitten from one of my favorite Disney movies, The Aristocats). Well, now she's a cat, for the most part, and back at the beginning of August, we decided to get her a little friend so she wouldn't be so lonely when we went somewhere. The kitten turned out to be a male, so no big deal. He's adorable, and he reminds me of my other favorite Disney movie cat...so we named him Oliver (from Oliver and Company).

Heh, can't you tell that I love cats and movies about cats?

In any case, Jeremy took a picture: Oliver.

And here's a recent one of Marie. Who looks like she's part Siamese, seriously. Dammit, now I'm reminded of those annoying, singing Siamese cats from Lady and the Tramp.

This picture of her needs to be turned into a cat macro with the added text: IMMA FIRIN UP MAH LAZERZ! Geez.

When I was growing up, my mom had a Siamese cat named Marie, whom she named after the same character. She had her for 19 years. :O

And my own cat (who's 15 & I miss very much cause I can't have her in Ohio with me) is named Nala...can you guess after who? ;D

Wow, 19 years is a long time for a cat. Our longest living cats growing up were Snowy, who was our original kitten, and her firstborn, Stripes. Snowy lived to be 13, and Stripes lived to be 14. Heh, my oldest brother had a cat (Maggie) from Stripes' last litter whom he took when Stripes died (she had been "claimed" as his cat). I think she lived to be 8 (ended up having some problems).

Aw, that's too bad about Nala (nice name, by the way...I love that movie, too). I know how it feels to be missing your cat. I got a black cat (with pretty yellow eyes!) from my best friend's litter when I was a sophomore, and she was my "bewitching" cat whom I named "Katherine Kat". I called her Kitty. XD Sadly, about a year later, she went missing. The first time, she'd ridden along in the engine as my dad went to work (about 25 miles from where we lived) -- luckily, someone saw her before she was hit by one of the semis at the loading dock, and my dad brought her home. A month later, she turned up missing again...we never found her. :( I still miss her. She was such a loving cat.

Hey, we need to get together sometime to do...uh, something! *pokes*

HEEEE!

My mom has an orange tabby named Oliver. Seems to be common after Oliver and Company. XD We also had one named Tigger - he wasn't orange, but he did bounce a lot. And Thumper, come to think of it... Hell, I think most of my cats over the years have had Disney names. XD

I think if you had named Marie Si or Am, no one would have gotten the reference. XD

Makes me want another. But the hubby would murder me. XD

I have one too, she looks a bit like Marie.

( She´s one from the first kittens of my other cat, who was a mixed siamese; my lovely new neighbours - people who just move on - poisoned her; after she lived with us by more than four years )
